If the olive tree remembered its planter, its oil would turn to tears!
O wisdom of our ancestors, if only we could give you our flesh as a shield!
But the plain of the wind gives the wind's slaves no harvest!
With our eyelashes we shall uproot the thorns and sorrows, root and all!
We shall remain the olive tree's green, and a shield around the land!
